Department of Environmental Technology / About the Department
The Department of Environmental Technology is one of the new departments at the University of Mosul within the College of Environmental Sciences. Established in 2008, it commenced its work at the beginning of the 2008-2009 academic year. The total number of students enrolled over the past five years has reached (1,324). The department council consists of (5) members: the department head, its rapporteur, and three faculty members with advanced academic degrees. The department’s teaching staff numbers (33) with various postgraduate degrees and academic titles. The department provides the community with graduates whose specializations enable them to understand and describe environmental problems using modern concepts and develop appropriate scientific solutions that can be implemented using local resources.
The department also contributes to community service by holding seminars and workshops and preparing studies on the environmental reality of the governorate. The department awards a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Technology. The department strives to ensure the success of its self-assessment process, with the aim of assessing the current situation, overcoming problems and difficulties, and determining the extent to which it meets the national programmatic and institutional accreditation standards issued by national accreditation boards.
