The First Student Guidance Conference
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, Dean of the College of Medicine, the University Psychological Guidance Division in cooperation with the Student Activities Division in the College of Medicine, and in coordination with the University Psychological Guidance Department and the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit, held the First Student Guidance Conference on Thursday, February 12, 2026, under the slogan: “Medical Guidance: Steps towards Excellence and Creativity”.
The conference activities began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of the blessed Surah Al-Fatiha and verses from the Holy Quran, in honor of the martyrs’ souls and to strengthen national and humanitarian values.
The Dean of the College of Medicine delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of psychological and academic guidance in supporting medical students, as it represents a fundamental pillar in building the university student’s personality scientifically, professionally, and psychologically, praising the efforts made in organizing this specialized conference and a speech by the Psychological Guidance Department.
The scientific sessions followed, including guidance lectures and research presentations covering various topics related to medical guidance, academic excellence skills, stress management strategies, and developing creative abilities among medical students, with an open dialogue and discussion between students and specialized professors.
The conference also included a distinguished student exhibition, where students displayed their activities and creative works, reflecting a high level of interaction.
The event featured the presentation of several student research papers, evaluated by a specialized scientific committee, in support of scientific research and encouraging young talents to innovate.
At the end of the conference, top and outstanding students were honored, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to participants and organizing committees, in recognition of their efforts in making this scientific and guidance event a success.
The conference was held as part of the college and university’s efforts to enhance a supportive university environment for creativity and excellence, and to establish a culture of academic and psychological guidance as a fundamental pillar for achieving success and excellence, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 17.
