Ten New Strains of Tick Parasite (Hyalomma anatolicum) Recorded in Mosul City
A research team has successfully recorded ten new strains of the tick parasite (Hyalomma anatolicum) infesting cattle in Mosul city. These strains have been registered in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
This scientific achievement was made possible by the efforts of Prof. Dr. Buthaina Hatem Al-Sabawi, a lecturer at the College of Medicine, Department of Human Anatomy, University of Mosul, in collaboration with Asst. Prof. Dr. Hanan Sedeeq Saadoun, a lecturer at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Biology Sciences, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Arqam Mohammed Azhar Al-Omari, a lecturer at the College of Agriculture and Forestry, Department of Food Sciences.
This achievement is a significant scientific contribution that enhances the documentation and study of genetic diversity in parasites, supporting research efforts in medical, veterinary, and environmental sciences.
