Honoring a Group of Distinguished Faculty Members under the (FERP) Program to Enhance Academic and Research Excellence

Out of the college’s commitment to promoting a culture of institutional excellence and establishing quality standards in higher education and scientific research, and with the aim of supporting academic competencies and motivating them to continue giving and innovating, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim Zubair, held a ceremony on Monday, June 15, 2026, to honor a group of distinguished faculty members from the College of Medicine and the College of Al-Batool Medicine, at Al-Razi Hall.
The ceremony was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Al-Harbi, The Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Lecturer Dr. Ashraf Al-Samadi, The vice Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with several faculty members and college staff.
This honoring is part of the implementation of the Faculty Excellence and Research Performance Program (FERP), adopted by the college to support scientific and research excellence for the 2024-2025 academic year, and to encourage faculty members to achieve quality performance indicators that contribute to enhancing the college’s academic standing and developing its scientific and research outputs.
In his speech during the ceremony, the Dean praised the scientific and research efforts made by the faculty members, acknowledging their active contributions to strengthening the college’s scientific output and improving its academic ranking. He affirmed that investing in distinguished academic talents is a key pillar for achieving the college’s goals and future aspirations.
The honoring covered several outstanding categories based on approved academic indicators, including:
– The faculty member with the highest number of scientific citations.
– The faculty member with the highest H-index value according to the Scopus database.
– The faculty member with the highest number of published scientific papers.
– The faculty member who authored and published a scientific book during the academic year, in addition to faculty members who achieved the highest scores in the annual performance evaluation.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the distinguished faculty members in recognition of their outstanding scientific and research achievements, and to encourage them to continue their path of excellence and creativity, thereby contributing to the advancement of academic and research performance and serving higher education.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 by supporting quality education and scientific research, Goal 9 by encouraging innovation and knowledge production, as well as Goal 17 by fostering an academic environment that supports scientific collaboration and the exchange of expertise.
