The Women’s Affairs Committee at the Mosul College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, organizes a workshop on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

As part of the activities of the Women’s Affairs Committee at the Mosul College of Medicine, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, a training workshop entitled “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest Patients” was held. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Dina Abdulghani Al-Qazzaz, an anesthesiologist. The workshop included a theoretical lecture on the causes of cardiac arrest and how to deal with the injured person, followed by practical training on CPR mannequins.
Workshop Objectives:
1. Raise community awareness of the need for CPR training as a minimum requirement for CPR.
2. Identify the most common causes of sudden cardiac arrest that occur outside the hospital.
3. Anticipate sudden cardiac arrest and call for immediate emergency medical care.
4. Anticipate sudden cardiac arrest and initiate CPR until the ambulance arrives.
Recommendations:
Promote the culture of CPR among community members of all ages and educational levels.
Hold similar workshops at least in all colleges. Hold more specialized workshops to train trainers and provide them with certifications so they can train other members of society at the school level (primary and secondary), teaching staff, and other government departments. This will be on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
