A Social Symposium of the College of Medicine Sheds Light on Some Customs and Traditions of Some Scholarship Countries

The Division of Scholarships and Cultural Relations of the College of Medicine held its cultural and social symposium entitled “Cultural Overviews from Some Scholarship Countries for Medical College Scholarships” on Monday, 6th December 2021.

The symposium aimed to shed light on some of the good customs and traditions circulated by some scholarship countries such as China, Malaysia, Jordan, Ireland and others, which have an impact on improving the societal reality and the health and cultural habits in our society.

The symposium started with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed followed by the inaugural lecture by Assistant Prof Dr Omaima A. Ibrahim entitled “Cultural Overviews from the State of China”.

After a short break, the lectures session started, headed by the Scientific Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim. The first lecture was given by the Lecturer Dr Muddathir A. Muhammad, where he presented his lecture entitled “Cultural Glances from the State of Jordan”, and the Lecturer Dr Seema’ A. Ahmed, who gave her lecture entitled “Cultural Glances from the State of France”, Assistant Prof Dr Ali A. Daoud and his lecture entitled “Cultural Glances.” From the State of Malaysia”. Then the Lecturer Dr Janan A. Abdullah and her lecture entitled “Cultural Glimpses from the State of England”, and then the conclusion with the Lecturer Dr Rana M. Raouf.

On the sidelines of the symposium, certificates of participation were presented. The representatives of the two supporting companies also gave lectures on the two scientific companies, Jana and Mec.

The symposium was held under the patronage and attendance of the President of the University, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, and the Administrative Vice-President, Prof Dr Waheed M. Al-Ibrahimi. The symposium was also attended by some members of university and college councils and tens of academic teaching from different scientific departments.
