a discussion of the master’s student , Hisham Ahmed al-Taleb, was held at the College of Pharmacy on Thursday, October 22th 2020,. The discussion committee was chaired by Prof Essam H. al-Dabbagh, with the membership of a number of university’s teaching staff, including those of the Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine, Prof Dr Imad Abdel-Jabbar Thanoun. The study demonstrated the ability of deferasirox to raise oxidative strain through its effect on some antioxidants in thalassemia patients under the age of six as well as the c-reactive protein that reflects the inflammatory reaction in the human body. It also revealed that the effect of the aforementioned drug was clearer in female patients compared to male patients while the aforementioned drug was not observed to have a clear effect on blood lipid levels. After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included accepting the thesis after making amendments to it, while granting the student a master’s degree.
