A Study of the Iraqi Board Student from the Department of Pathology Discusses the Factors Affecting Health Related Quality of Life in Adult with Beta – Thalassemia Major in Nineveh Province.

The study of the Iraqi Board student from the Department of Pathology discussed the Factors Affecting Health Related Quality of Life in Adult with Beta – Thalassemia Major in Nineveh Province on Monday 3rd May 2021.

The research presented by student Samar S. Saadi Al-Hakim aimed to use a global questionnaire (RAND) SF-36 to assess the quality of life related to the health status of a patient HRQoL.

He concluded that the aforementioned questionnaire should be used to detect and treat complications related to the disease early. This study is the first of its kind to be conducted in Nineveh Governorate.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof Dr Wahda M. Tayyib (Chair), Assistant Prof Dr Nadwa S. Al-Ezzo (Member), Assistant Prof Dr Yusra A. Hussein (Member), and Prof Dr Mona A. Kashmoula (Member and Supervisor).

After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read including accepting the research after making the necessary amendments to it.
