An Iraqi Board Student’s Research in Otorhinolaryngology Discusses the Evaluation of the Consequences and Benefits of Septal Quilting Sutures

The research of the Iraqi Board student in Otolaryngology, Sinan A. Majeed entitled “The Efficacy of Septal Quilting Sutures Versus Nasal Packing in Septoplasty” was discussed Filling the nose after septoplasty on Wednesday 31st March 2021.

It was concluded that the septal quilting sutures technique is more suitable for the discomfort of the patient after septoplasty. It is better in terms of nasal obstruction and nasal / face pain, and avoiding the pain that occurs when the nasal septum is lifted.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad (Chairman), Assistant Prof Dr Haitham A. Al-Nouri (Member), Consultant Doctor Dr Raghdan M. Al-Hamdani (Member), and Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed ( Member and Supervisor). After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read including accepting the research after making the necessary amendments to it.
