Chairman and Deputy- Chairman of the Scientific Promotions Committee of the College of Medicine Attend a Workshop on Promotion Requirements for Year 2017
Under the patronage of the President of University of Mosul, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision of the Deanship of the College of Law, the scientific workshop entitled “Scientific promotion and its requirements in light of the instructions for scientific promotion No. 167 of 2017” was held on Monday 20th December 2021. The workshop was attended by a number of university teaching staff among them, the chairman and his deputy of the Scientific Promotions Committee of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad (from the Department of Surgery), and Assistant Prof Dr Maysoon M. Al-Qazzaz (from the Anatomy Department).
The workshop presented an explanation of the instructions for scientific promotions with reference to statistics on the transactions of scientific promotions that were completed during the last three months of 2021 which exceeded 180 transactions.
It discussed the importance of publishing research in robust scientific journals within Scopus containers as this is subject to scrutiny by the Scientific Promotions Committee and based on the updates and changes that occur in the journal.
Emphasis was placed on the scrutiny of the scientific promotion transaction with a review of the mechanism for submitting it to the Central Committee later.
