Senior Biologist Alyaa Ali Abdullah Completes Her Master’s Thesis Successfully

Senior Biologist Alyaa A. Abdullah, affiliated to the Division of Medical Biology, Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine, completed her master’s study on the histological and physiological evaluation of Orlistat and the aqueous extract of Rosmarinus officinalis leaves in some organs of experimentally fattened male albino rats on Tuesday, 7th September 2021.

The study focused on detecting and diagnosing histopathological effects on the brain, liver, kidneys, heart and aorta caused by high-fat and high-calorie foods.

It dealt with the effect of the drug Orlisat for weight loss in different doses and its efficiency in reducing weight and its effect on the percentage of types of fats in the blood.

After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read included accepting the thesis and granting the student the master’s degree.

The Deanship and members of the college appreciate this distinguished scientific effort, wishing her continued success.
