The Council of the College of Medicine Nominates Five of Teaching staff to the Ministerial Committees in Charge of Unifying the Curricula of Medical Colleges

The Council of the College of Medicine nominated five professor with experience and competence to the ministerial committees charged with unifying the curricula of medical colleges in Iraq (each according to his specialization). This occurred in the ninth meeting of the Council which was held on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

In the affairs of undergraduate studies, the Scientific Vice-Dean informed all departments of the necessity to pay attention to the status, clarity and quality of the examination questions. It was also directed (all teaching staff) to adhere to the examination observations, taking into account the parental and educational treatment with students. In the same context, the meeting hosted a student representative in the council, where he presented many requests from students (from all grades) related to lectures in terms of improving technical techniques in the classrooms as well as regarding practical exams, mid-year exams, and others. It also discussed the necessity of supporting matters relating to students in the new building such as providing a cafeteria and transportation buses from the university centre to the college and vice versa.

In the affairs of postgraduate studies, a master’s degree was granted to two pharmacists from Nineveh Health Department in the field of pharmacology. Also, other issues and points were discussed in the session.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed, in the presence of the Scientific Vice-Dean (Secretary of the Council), Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, and Administrative Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Hazim Kh. Al-Allaf in addition to other members of the council.
