Visit of the French Consul to Follow Up on the Rehabilitation of Research Centers at the University of Mosul
Yesterday, the University of Mosul received the French Consul in Mosul, Mr. [Jean-Christophe], accompanied by a delegation from the French Development Agency and France Expertise Organization. The visit aimed to follow up on the implementation of the French grant project dedicated to rehabilitating the university’s research centers.
A meeting was held to discuss updates and address challenges hindering the maintenance of the linear accelerator (LINAC), alongside deliberating on various issues related to the research centers’ operations and the development of their infrastructure.
The French delegation conducted a comprehensive field tour of the research centers to assess the current situation and identify the technical requirements necessary for successfully completing the project. The delegation was welcomed by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Munir Salem Taha Al-Badrani, Prof. Basil SAEED, Dean of the College of Medicine and Chair of the Research Centers Council, along with Dr. Omar Hamoudat, Director of the Research Hospital, and members of the council.
It is noteworthy that this French grant for rehabilitating the research centers forms part of a long-term collaboration strategy between the University of Mosul and French institutions, including French universities. This collaboration represents a cornerstone of the university’s international partnerships, reflecting the friendly relations between the two sides and their mutual desire to achieve scientific advancements that contribute to the development of education and research in Iraq.
