Participation of a Faculty Member from the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, in the Fifth International Conference at the University of Karbala with a Research Paper on the Implications of Climate Change in the Middle East

The University of Karbala held its Fifth International Scientific Conference on Climate Change on Tuesday, 29 April 2025. The event witnessed broad participation and interaction from researchers both within Iraq and abroad, with nearly forty scholars contributing to the conference.

Representing the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Lecturer Maha Ahmed Ibrahim, from the Department of International Relations, participated in the conference with a co-authored research paper titled: “The Political and Security Implications of Climate Change in the Middle East.”

The conference was held under the theme: “Confronting Climate Extremism Towards a Sustainable Future”, and its sessions were organized across multiple thematic tracks, including political, security, and environmental dimensions.

The Deanery of the College extends its congratulations to the researcher for this diligent scientific endeavor, wishing her and all academic staff continued excellence and distinction in scholarly, research, and academic fields, God willing.
