The Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Tai, chaired an important meeting on the significance of sustainable development on Tuesday, 1 July 2025. The meeting was attended by the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin. The meeting targeted all heads of departments and units.

The aim of the meeting was to convey the directives of the university presidency regarding the promotion of awareness of sustainable development concepts, by highlighting the role of all departments and units in integrating these goals into the administrative and academic plans of the college. The meeting also discussed the importance of sustainable practices in resource management and environmental planning, and the activation of activities that contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to quality education, institutional work, clean energy, responsible consumption, and others.

The deanery emphasized the utmost importance of this topic, as local, regional, and international rankings of colleges and universities rely heavily on it. It also stressed the need to adopt sustainable visions, ideas, and policies across all academic, technical, and administrative areas of work.
