Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Political Science, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, the college held a workshop on the occasion of the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the College’s Conference and Discussion Hall.

The Public Policy Department participated through Lecturer Dr. Kawthar Hassan Ghazi, presenting her paper entitled “Violent Extremism and Its Impact on Political Stability”, while the International Relations Department was represented by Lecturer Dr. Rasha Suhail Mohammed, presenting her paper entitled “Violent Actors and Their Impact on Iraqi National Security”.

The significance of this workshop lies in its alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
