Congratulations on the Occasion of Akitu and the Assyrian-Babylonian New Year

With the most beautiful expressions of congratulations and best wishes, the Deanery of the College of Political Science extends its sincere greetings to our fellow citizens from the Christian communities (Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Syriacs) on the occasion of the Assyrian New Year – the festival of Akitu.

This celebration, deeply rooted in the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia, represents a symbol of renewal and hope, and an occasion to reflect on the great civilizational heritage that has contributed to shaping Iraq’s diverse identity.

We take this opportunity to reaffirm our pride in the bonds of brotherhood that unite us, wishing our fellow citizens a year filled with peace, prosperity, and security, and wishing our beloved Iraq continued unity and prosperity under the banner of citizenship and peaceful coexistence.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year… and a blessed Akitu.
