The College of Political Science Participates in Nineveh University’s Scientific Symposium

In the presence of the esteemed Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, Rector of the University of Mosul, the esteemed Associate Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamid, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, and the esteemed Associate Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, Dean of the College of Political Science, the College of Political Science participated in the scientific symposium entitled “Separation of Powers,” organized by Nineveh University on the morning of Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Ramada Hotel Hall.

The college’s participation was represented by hosting Dr. Ali Bashar Bakar, a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at our college, in a scientific panel discussion. The session sought to deconstruct the concept of the “Separation of Powers” within a scientific approach based on the literature of constitutional political thought, starting from the classical concepts formulated by Montesquieu, leading to contemporary applications that link functional separation with mechanisms of balance and mutual oversight within the political system.

The significance of this scientific participation lies in its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
