Participation of a Faculty Member from Our College in a Workshop on the Phenomenon of Addiction at the College of Administration and Economics

Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Elias, a faculty member from the branch of International Relations at our college, participated in the scientific workshop titled: “The Psychological and Social Dimensions of the Phenomenon of Drug Addiction,” which was held by the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul on Monday, April 27, 2026.
The primary objective of the workshop was to build societal and institutional awareness regarding the complexities of the phenomenon of addiction, and to shift the stereotypical perception of an addict from being a “criminal” to an individual who requires treatment, as well as psychological and social support. This participation falls within the framework of the college’s response to the requirements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly (Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals).
