A Faculty Member of Our College Obtains a Ph.D. in International Politics

Assistant Lecturer Fanar Imad Khalil, a faculty member of the Department of International Relations at our college, earned a Ph.D. in Political Science / International Politics from Al-Nahrain University – College of Political Science, following the defense and acceptance of his dissertation titled: “Global Security Trends in Russian Foreign Policy Since 2014: Selected Models.” The defense was held at the Hadharat Al-Nahrain Hall in the College of Political Science.
The dissertation analyzed security trends in Russian foreign policy by reviewing selected models governed within a global security framework. It aimed to understand the nature of Russian security transformations in light of current global challenges, as Russia has adopted a global concept of security while maintaining the notion of a global war with the West, particularly during the 2014 Crimea crisis, the 2015 war in Syria, and the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian war.
