In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit (University of Mosul Presidency), the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul hosted a health awareness lecture delivered by Al-Quds Health Center on the dangers of smoking, as a harmful habit that poses serious risks to both individual and public health, as well as the ways to protect society, particularly young people, from its adverse effects. The lecture was held on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Rand Bashar, aimed to raise awareness of the harmful effects of smoking, its negative health consequences, and the factors that lead individuals to adopt this habit.

The lecture was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen, along with a number of the College staff members.
