Assistant Professor at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Publishes Scientific Research on Artificial Intelligence and Civil Liability

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Nine: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the Tikrit University Journal of Law published a scientific research paper by Assistant Professor Ansam Salim Mahdi, a faculty member in the Public Policy Branch at the College of Political Science, entitled: “Artificial Intelligence and Civil Liability for Its Harms under Iraqi Law.” The research was published in Volume Eleven, Issue One, Part One, for the year 2026, and was made available online in September 2026.

The research addresses the issue of artificial intelligence and the civil liability arising from its harms under Iraqi law, in light of the rapid development of intelligent technologies and their diverse applications in medical, industrial, commercial, educational, and other fields. It highlights the legal challenges associated with determining liability for damages resulting from the use of artificial intelligence systems, particularly given the involvement of multiple parties in their production, development, or use.

Congratulations to the College on this distinguished scientific achievement. We wish its faculty members continued success and contribution in serving our country, city, and university. May God grant success.
