In achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals), a joint scientific research was published by Member of Parliament Assistant Lecturer Sumaya Ghanim Nayef, alongside two faculty members from the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Lecturer Fanar Imad Khalil and Assistant Lecturer Dalya Adil Sheet. The research, titled “Political Compatibility and Its Impact on the Performance of the Duties of Members of the Nineveh Governorate Council,” was published in the Journal of Babylon Center for Humanities Studies, affiliated with the University of Babylon, in Volume (16), Issue (10), October 2026.

The research addressed the dimensions of political compatibility regarding the performance of duties by Nineveh Provincial Council members. It highlighted the challenges facing the actual implementation of this compatibility, most notably the lack of trust among the concerned parties and the political and partisan polarizations that transformed it into a quota-based system, resulting in the absence of effective oversight. Consequently, the study emphasized the need to develop more transparent and effective working methods to enhance trust, improve the council’s institutional performance, and boost its capacity to meet developmental and political demands.

Congratulations to the College on this outstanding scientific achievement. We wish all the researchers continued contribution and success in their scientific and academic careers, in service of our country, city, and university. May God grant success.
