Under the patronage of Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Zahir Dean of the College of Political Science, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, the College of Political Science held a scientific workshop on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day on Sunday, October 9, 2022.The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Ramo Al-Ibrahimi, Rector Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Major General Abdul-Khaleq Al-Khikani Director of the Joint Center for Security and Intelligence in Nineveh, and a number of deans, members of the University of Mosul Council. And a number of professors, researchers and graduate students.The two sessions of the workshop witnessed a review of the Iraqi memory, starting from the founding of the Iraqi state in 1921 to the present day, which embodied the stages of the Iraqi national struggle to get rid of colonial control, and the stages of Iraq’s growing political and economic role in international forums and organizations under the League of Nations and the United Nations. They also talked about the most important challenges facing the path of the Iraqi political process at the present time, as well as identifying effective means and mechanisms to ensure the return of Iraq’s leading role in the Arab world and globally. At the conclusion of the workshop, the discussion and commentary was opened for the attendees in order to enrich the topics that were raised during the two sessions of the workshop.
