Participation in the Regional Forum on Women and Climate in Tunisia
Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Dhanoon Al-Taie, a faculty member in the International Relations Department, participated as an official speaker in the Regional Forum on Women and Climate held in Tunisia from September 16 to 18, 2023. The researcher delivered a presentation titled “Women and Climate Change in Mosul: Opportunities and Challenges.”
During the intervention, he delved into the chronological stages that women in Mosul have experienced, emphasizing the impact of war in limiting their roles and the subsequent empowerment after the liberation of the city in 2017. The presentation also highlighted success stories and illustrated the role of women in clearing the remnants of war and engaging in awareness initiatives to mitigate climate change.
