Joint Collaboration between the University of Mosul and UNESCO Chair
As part of the collaborative efforts between the University of Mosul, represented by the UNESCO Chair at the university, and the Education for Peace Research Program at the Center for International Studies, New York University, the joint research project between the two parties continues. The project, which started with online courses for researchers in July 2023, saw Professor Thomas Hill, the program director and project supervisor, visit the College of Political Science. During the visit, he met with Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Al-Qassar, the dean of the college, and the two sides discussed opening avenues for mutual cooperation.
It is worth noting that the College of Political Science is participating in the above-mentioned research project with a study titled “Exploring the Future of Women’s Leadership in Mosul Using Participatory Action Research.” The study is conducted by Dr. Amar Ahmed Rashid, a faculty member in the International Relations Department at our college, in collaboration with Emily Johnson, a master’s student in the Education for Peace Research Program at the Center for International Studies, New York University.
