The College of Political Science hosts a scientific seminar on green education
Under the auspices of the honorable President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmady, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Prof. Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Al-Qassar, a valuable scientific seminar was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The seminar was attended by members of the Provincial Council, Deputy Prof. Ahmed Al-Abd Rabbo, Prof. Somaia Al-Khabori, and Dr. Sarah Al-Jubouri. The seminar focused on one of the globally growing vital issues, namely “Green Education.” This term refers to efforts aimed at integrating sustainable development principles and environmental awareness into the educational process. It encourages green and environmentally-friendly behaviors among students, faculty members, educational institutions, and the entire community. The seminar featured presentations from a group of faculty members who discussed the role of educational systems in the green transition, the gradual shift from human-centered to environmental-centered concerns, the roots of green policies, and the role of green education in achieving sustainable development. The presenters also provided insights into this progressive educational approach in Japan.
