Al Jazeera Center for Studies in Qatar Publishes Electronically the PhD Thesis of a Lecturer from the International Relations Department College of Political Science University of Mosul Dr. Sarah Jassim Mohammed on the Role of International Treaties in Banning Nuclear Weapons
On Sunday, 15 September 2024, the Al Jazeera Center for Studies in Qatar, through its official website, published the PhD thesis of Dr. Sarah Jassim Mohammed, a lecturer from the International Relations Department, College of Political Science, University of Mosul. The thesis discusses the role of international treaties in banning nuclear weapons, with a study focusing on the 2017 Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
The thesis aims to address the dangers posed by nuclear weapons across various environmental, security, political, and developmental dimensions. It also highlights the stance of international law regarding the possession, threat, and use of nuclear weapons, while examining the efforts and endeavors of states, international governmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations to eliminate them.
It is noteworthy that the publishing center is an independent research institution dedicated to enhancing the foundations of scientific research and disseminating knowledge through media and communication technology, particularly in relation to highly important academic theses and dissertations worldwide, as part of its series entitled “University Theses.”
The researcher had successfully completed and defended her PhD thesis at Al-Nahrain University on 29 February 2024.
