Active Participation of the College of Political Science University of Mosul in the First Conference of the Center for Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence
The Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Zahir, attended the opening of the First Conference of the Center for Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence at the University of Mosul in collaboration with Al-Masala Organization for Human Resource Development, on Wednesday 2 October 2024.
The conference included several academic sessions in which the College of Political Science actively participated. In the first research session (Social and Media Axis), Assistant Lecturer Ziyad Abdulrahman Ali presented his joint research titled: “Social Problems and Their Role in Threatening Community Peace.” Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin and Lecturer Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri were assigned as session chairs for the second session on the economy and the second session on climate change, respectively.
The conference addressed economic and social issues, the role of media in fostering a culture of sustainable community peace, and the impact of climate change on water security and internal displacement in light of the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030, through research presented by various universities from both inside and outside Iraq.
The conference was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supervised by the President of the University of Mosul. It was attended by several members of the University Council, along with hundreds of professors, academics, and specialists.
