A Master’s thesis at the College of Political Science University of Mosul discusses the engineering of the political system and its impact on societal peace
A Master’s thesis at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, titled *The Engineering of the Political System and its Impact on Societal Peace in Post-Conflict States: Ghana as a Case Study,* was presented by student Ibrahim Ayoub Salem on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
The thesis aimed to explore the institutional mechanisms and political tools used by the political elite in Ghana to establish social cohesion.
It concluded that, despite the efforts of the Ghanaian political system to restructure the constitution and both formal and informal institutions to strengthen societal peace, internal and external challenges impeded the sustainability of this peace.
The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Walid Salem Mohammed (Chair), Assistant Prof. Dr. Hisham Ezzedine Majeed (Member), Assistant Prof. Dr. Ziyad Samir Zaki (Member), and Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen (Member and Supervisor).
The Dean of the College, Assistant Prof. Dr. Tarek Mohammed Tayeb Zahir, along with several faculty members, attended part of the session.
After the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included accepting the thesis, with necessary amendments, and awarding the student a Master’s degree.
