The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul as one of the partners of the UNESCO Chair attended the opening of the second edition of the Chair Week organized by the University Presidency
The University of Mosul’s Presidency launched the activities of the UNESCO Chair Week for a Safe and Stable Society on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The President of the University, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, along with members of the University Council, presided over and attended the program’s second edition, which will continue for three days. Representing the College of Political Science as a partner in the Chair, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Thahir, attended the opening session, along with College Council members, faculty members, staff, and students.
The Chair speakers shared their success stories and achievements in meeting their goals. A documentary film was shown, highlighting the Chair’s activities since the university acquired it and its progress in achieving its objectives. The program also included musical performances and various artistic presentations by students from the College of Fine Arts. Certificates of participation and recognition were awarded to those who contributed to the success of the event. The following days will feature dialogue sessions, a research competition, presentations of creative peace messages, and a showcase of the winning research, concluding with a closing ceremony. Through these events, the university aims to remain a beacon of peace, promoting coexistence, emphasizing social cohesion, and rejecting extremism.
