The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Hosts an Introductory Seminar on the General Population Census Discussing its Importance in Planning, Development, Basic Services, Investment, Projects, Reconstruction, and More

On Wednesday, 13 November 2024, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul hosted an introductory seminar organized by the Nineveh Directorate of Statistics on the general population and housing census. The seminar aimed to clarify the significance of the census in areas such as planning, development, basic services, investment, projects, reconstruction, fair resource distribution, and more.

The seminar emphasized that the census is a vital and essential process for any country (including Iraq) because it provides a comprehensive snapshot of society at a specific moment in time. The data collected plays a crucial role in decision-making related to future planning and development.

The seminar was chaired by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Lecturer Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, and presented by Mr. Nawfal Suleiman Talab, Director of the Nineveh Directorate of Statistics. The seminar proceedings were part of the campaign launched by the college on that day under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision and presence of the College Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Muhammad Tayeb Dhahir. The event was also attended by members of the College Council, along with faculty members, staff, and a large number of students, filling the seminar hall.
