Assistant Professor Dr. Yazan Khallouq Mohammed, a faculty member in the Public Policy Department at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, conducted an advisory workshop titled “Smoking and Its Harmful Effects on Individuals and Society” on Tuesday, 11 February 2025.

The workshop addressed the negative effects of smoking on public health, in addition to the financial burdens borne by smokers due to this harmful habit. It also discussed the social consequences of this issue, including its adverse impact on social relationships and the surrounding environment.

The workshop was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College and in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit. It falls within the activities of the Guidance and Educational Counseling Unit of the department.
