A scientific research paper by Assistant Lecturer Omar Othman Ibrahim, a faculty member at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, has been published on the topic of climate change and its impact on Iraq.
The Journal of Regional Studies published the research paper titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on Public Policies (The Drought Problem in Iraq as a Model)” on 1 April 2025. The paper is authored by Assistant Lecturer Omar Othman Ibrahim from the Department of Public Policy at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul.
The aim of the research is to analyze the impact of climate change on public policies in Iraq and to study how governments respond to the drought problem resulting from climate change. The study seeks to understand the causes of drought and its relation to climate change. The issue under discussion is considered one of the most serious challenges facing our country, especially in the present time, with its accompanying environmental consequences that require effective public policies to address the effects of climate change on society and the state as a whole.
