Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning Publishes a Policy Brief by a Faculty Member of the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Assistant Lecturer Ziyad Abdulrahman Ali, on the Implications of U.S. Tariffs on the Global Economy

Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning has published a policy brief authored by Assistant Lecturer Ziyad Abdulrahman Ali, a faculty member in the Department of Public Policy at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul. The brief is titled: “The Implications of U.S. Tariffs on the Global Economy and International Interactions: Iraq as a Case Study,” and was published on 14 April 2025.

Amid escalating trade tensions between the United States and other countries, tariffs have become one of the primary tools used by the U.S. administration to achieve its economic objectives. These measures have included the imposition of broad tariffs on imports, raising many questions about the economic and political impacts of such actions. Accordingly, the paper presents the economic effects of these tariffs, including their impact on U.S. economic growth, prices, and wages, in addition to the anticipated responses from trade partners around the world.

For its part, the college’s administration congratulated this outstanding and diligent effort, wishing the researcher and all faculty members continued success and excellence in service of the college, the university, and the city as a whole, God willing.
