The Fourth International Scientific Conference of the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, on the Paths After the “Al-Aqsa Flood”

The Fourth International Scientific Conference of the Colleges of Political Science and Law at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Al-Ameed Institute for Graduate Studies, was launched under the title: “Paths After the Al-Aqsa Flood: Local, Regional, and International Dimensions”, and is being held from 24 to 27 April 2025.

The opening program, hosted by the Head of the Media and Government Communication Division, Senior Chief Engineer Hasan Younis Abdullah, began with recitations from the Holy Quran by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulmalik Suleiman Mohammed, Director of the Student Activities Department. This was followed by the national anthem, and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and Palestine.

Subsequently, speeches were delivered by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the Dean of the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie. The program also featured video presentations about the Ministry’s “Study in Iraq” initiative and the “International Solidarity Project to Save Education in Gaza,” which was sent to the conference by Palestinian academic Dr. Saeda Afaneh.

The first day included three academic sessions chaired respectively by Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Mohammed Tayeb Dhahir, and Lecturer Dr. Ali Bashar Bakr. During the proceedings, participation certificates were distributed to researchers by the University President.

The conference is held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Abdul Yasser Al-Aboudi, under the supervision of the President of the University of Mosul, and with the follow-up of the deanships of the organizing entities. The opening was attended by several members of parliament, academics, members of the University Council, the Chair and members of the Committee of Deans of Political Science Colleges, in addition to dozens of participating researchers from Iraqi and Arab universities.

The conference will conclude its sessions on Sunday, 27 April 2025, God willing.
