College of Political Sciences

Two faculty members from the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Lecturer Dr. Afraa Riyadh Mohammed and Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir, delivered two lectures on global peace at the Palace of Culture and Arts on Sunday, 25 May 2025.

The lectures addressed the concept of peace, ways to maintain the security of states and individuals, and how states can meet the standards of peace and justice in human rights under the framework of the United Nations. The topics also covered the historical perspective of peace and security through relevant international organizations, aiming to achieve balance and harmony among different segments of society so that all may live in safety and stability.

It is worth mentioning that the Palace of Culture and Arts in Nineveh, affiliated with the Directorate of Public Cultural Relations, is one of the formations of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities. The aforementioned event falls within the framework of cooperation between the college and the university on one hand, and community institutions, organizations, and bodies on the other, in dedication to serving humanity and society as a whole.
