The College of Political Science hosted an educational awareness workshop titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on Iraq,” organized by the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the Presidency of the University of Mosul. The event was held on Monday, 26 May 2025.
The workshop addressed the phenomenon of climate change and its adverse effects on the environment and public health, both at the individual and societal levels. It aimed to raise awareness of the urgent need to transition toward clean energy sources and promote a healthy and sustainable environment.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the University President and was coordinated by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Adel Mar’i from the Department of Public Policy — a member of the awareness team on climate-related impacts. The session was attended by several officials of divisions and administrative units, in addition to a number of faculty members and staff from the college.
This workshop falls within the activities of the university’s awareness team concerned with sustainability in the fields of energy, environment, and climate — aligning with global efforts toward sustainable development and environmental protection.
