Administrative Assistant of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Participates as a Committee Member in a Ph.D. Dissertation Defense at Al-Nahrain University on Policies of Domination and Dependency in the Global South

A Ph.D. dissertation entitled “Policies of Domination and Dependency and the Sustainable Development Agenda in the Global South” was discussed at the College of Political Science, Al-Nahrain University, on Monday, 30 June 2025. The dissertation was submitted by the doctoral student Saif Diaa Dhoair.

The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Nahi, and included several academic members, among them Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen, the Administrative Assistant of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul.

The dissertation aimed to analyze the theoretical and practical frameworks of domination and dependency policies imposed by major powers on countries of the Global South, and to explore how these policies affect the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda in these countries. It particularly focused on structural, economic, and political obstacles that hinder the achievement of genuine and independent development.

After the defense, the committee’s decision was read, which included the acceptance of the dissertation and the awarding of the Ph.D. degree to the student.
