A lecturer from the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul delivered a scientific lecture at the Center for Regional Studies on the role of applied research as one of the pillars of scientific research.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth—the Center for Regional Studies at the University of Mosul organized a scientific lecture entitled “Applied Research as One of the Pillars of Scientific Research.” The lecture was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muaid Younis, a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.

The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of applied research in supporting society and state institutions by providing practical and objective solutions to the problems facing various sectors. The speaker emphasized that applied research serves as a bridge between academic knowledge and practical needs, making it an effective tool for achieving sustainable development.

The lecture concluded by stressing that promoting applied research in universities constitutes a strategic path toward sustainable development and reinforces the role of academic institutions in serving society.
