The College Council of Political Science at the University of Mosul continues the convening of its second open session for the academic year 2025–2026

  • Ratification and announcement of the second-round examination results for undergraduate and postgraduate studies for the academic year 2024–2025.

  • Discussion of establishing new scientific branches.

  • Distribution of faculty supervision over postgraduate students.

  • Registration of research projects for some of the college’s faculty members.

  • Approval of several students’ requests regarding deferment and hosting.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—the College Council of Political Science at the University of Mosul continued its second open session for the academic year 2025–2026, on Sunday, 21 September 2025.

The council discussed the ratification of the second-round examination results for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies for the academic year 2024–2025. The members also deliberated on the establishment of new scientific branches that would contribute to broadening the horizons of scientific research and advancing the college’s academic programs. In the same context, the mechanism for distributing faculty members’ supervision of postgraduate students was also discussed.

At the research level, the council approved the registration of research projects for a number of the college’s faculty members. Furthermore, it reviewed requests submitted by some students regarding deferment and hosting, approving those that complied with the current ministerial regulations and instructions.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Tai, with the attendance of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Sabhan Al-Jubouri and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yaseen. Also present were the Head of the Department of International Relations, Professor Dr. Hazim Hamad Musa; the Rapporteur of the Department of Public Policy, Assistant Professor Mohammed Saleh Shateeb; the Representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate / Nineveh Branch, Professor Dr. Adnan Khalaf Al-Badrani; in addition to the Council Secretary, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Moayad Al-Dabbagh.
