Participation of a Faculty Member from the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, in an International Scientific Workshop on the Future of Political Islam in the Middle East, and the Deanship Extends Congratulations

In realization of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals; Al Sharq Forum, in cooperation with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs and the Policy and Society Institute, organized the international scientific workshop on the Future of Political Islam in the Middle East in light of new regional transformations, held during 27–28 September 2025.
A number of researchers and academics of various nationalities participated in the event, among them Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Ahmed Elias, faculty member of the International Relations Department at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, who presented his research paper.

The paper aimed to analyze the future of political Islam in the Middle East in light of current regional transformations, highlighting their impact on the stability of the region and its political trajectories, as well as exploring possible scenarios for the roles of Islamic movements amid economic, social, and security changes.

For its part, the Deanship congratulated this distinguished scholarly achievement, affirming that the participation of its faculty members in various academic events enhances the scientific, research, and intellectual standing of both the University and the College.
