The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds Its Annual Event on the Occasion of Iraqi National Day

In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals — Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions — the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its annual event celebrating the Iraqi National Day on Sunday, 5 October 2025.

The event included a lecture delivered by Professor Dr. Jamal Kamal Ismail from the Department of Public Policy, titled “The Circumstances Surrounding the Emergence of the Iraqi State.”

The lecture aimed to shed light on the historical and political stages Iraq has undergone since the establishment of its modern state in 1921, explaining the internal and external factors that contributed to shaping its political and administrative structure. It also discussed the challenges that faced the process of state-building and institutional development throughout modern Iraqi history.

The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, as part of the activities of the Committee for the Follow-up of National and International Days, and was attended by many members of the academic and administrative staff.
