The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds a Two-Day Guidance Workshop on Drug Use and Psychoactive Substances

In support of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit (at the University Presidency) and the Planning and Studies Unit (at the college), the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, organized the guidance workshop titled “Drug Use and Psychoactive Substances Among University Students”, held on 16–17 November 2025.
The workshop addressed topics related to social behavior to reduce drug use, and the role of the university as a preventive institution and a first line of defense. It also covered the direct negative impact of these harmful substances on political and economic stability, community security, and human development.
The workshop consisted of four lectures delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hudhaifa Fathallah Ali, Assistant Lecturer Elham Saeed Qadir, Assistant Lecturer Naba’ Azalddin Mohammed, and Assistant Lecturer Zainab Adel Mar’i.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and supervised by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasim Al-Tai, in cooperation with the two academic departments, as well as the University Psychological Counseling Department (at the University Presidency), as part of the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week.
