The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Holds a Guidance Seminar on the Scourge of Drugs
Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit (at the University Presidency), and the Studies and Planning Division (at the College), the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, held the guidance seminar titled “The Scourge of Drugs” on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
The seminar discussed topics related to the security risks of drugs on individuals and society in general, focusing on their dangers and the necessary measures to address them. It also covered international procedures in this regard and psychoactive substances.
The seminar consisted of three lectures delivered by Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Zuhair Abdulkarim, Lecturer Shihbaa Hikmat Elias, and Assistant Lecturer Omnia Ibrahim Khalil.
The seminar was held under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and supervised by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jasem Al-Tai, in cooperation with the two academic departments, as well as the University Psychological Counseling Department (at the University Presidency), as part of the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week.
