A faculty member of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Hind Ziyad Nafi‘, delivered a lecture on Human Rights in the Digital Age as part of a workshop organized by the College of Environmental Sciences

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul), the College of Environmental Sciences held a workshop entitled Human Rights in the Digital Age: Protecting Privacy and Freedom of Expression on Thursday, 18 December 2025. The workshop consisted of a single lecture delivered by a faculty member of the Department of International Relations at the College of Political Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Hind Nizar Nafi‘.
The lecture discussed the concept of human rights in the contemporary digital environment, focusing on the relationship between protecting privacy and freedom of expression in cyberspace, particularly in light of the most prominent legal, technical, and political challenges imposed by digital transformation, as well as the legitimate restrictions on freedom of expression and the mechanisms for balancing them with security and social requirements.
For its part, the college deanship praised the distinguished efforts exerted by the teaching staff in enhancing the university’s cognitive and educational role in service of humanity and society as a whole.
