College of Political Science Council at the University of Mosul Holds Its Sixth Session for the Academic Year 2025–2026

In implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, the Council of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its sixth session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.

At the outset, the Council welcomed its new member, the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate/ Nineveh, Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Elias. In return, the Council expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to his predecessor, Professor Dr. Adnan Khalaf Hamid, in recognition of the commendable efforts he exerted during his tenure in this position.

The meeting discussed the importance of following up on the work of research teams concerned with scientific publishing in international indexing databases (Scopus and Clarivate). The conditions for stimulating scientific research were also examined. In the same context, the second phase of completing the SIS system related to examination committees was discussed. In addition, admission plans for the College in accordance with academic standards were presented. From another perspective, the scientific and administrative requirements for Iraqi academic journals were addressed.

The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sohaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, and was attended by the Assistant Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin. It was also attended by the Heads of the Departments of International Relations and Public Policy, Professor Dr. Hazim Hamad Mousa and Professor Dr. Walid Salim Mohammed, the representative of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate/ Nineveh, Lecturer Dr. Firas Mohammed Elias, as well as the Council Secretary, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayyad Al-Dabbagh.
