College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Holds a Distinguished Qur’anic Discussion Forum on the Occasion of the National Day of the Holy Qur’an

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning/ Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul), and the Continuing Education Unit (at the College of Political Science), the College held a distinguished Qur’anic discussion forum on the occasion of the National Day of the Holy Qur’an (27 Rajab of each year), on Sunday, 18 January 2026.
The forum included two lectures delivered in turn by faculty members of the Public Policy Branch: Professor Dr. Salah al-Din Salim Mohammed and Lecturer Dr. Abdul Shater Abdulrahman. The session was chaired by the Head of the Media and Government Communication Division, Chief Senior Engineer Hasan Younis Abdullah, with Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Hazim Hamid serving as rapporteur.
The two lectures discussed the topics of new vocabulary and linguistic structures introduced by the Holy Qur’an into the Arabic language, with selected examples, and the centrality of the Holy Qur’an in the thought of Alija Izetbegović. On the sidelines of the forum, a special interactive Qur’anic competition was also held.
The event was conducted under the supervision and in the presence of the Dean of the College and falls as part of the activities of the Committee for Monitoring National and International Days. It was attended by several members of the College Council, in addition to a large number of academic and administrative staff.
