The Deans of the Colleges of Political Science at the Universities of Mosul and Tikrit Attend Part of a Master’s Thesis Defense at the College of Law, University of Mosul, on the Legal Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Eight: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal Ten: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning/Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul); the Deans of the Colleges of Political Science at the Universities of Mosul and Tikrit, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie and Professor Dr. Qasim Alwan Saeed, attended part of a master’s thesis defense at the College of Law, University of Mosul, on the legal protection of the rights of migrant workers. The thesis was submitted by the student Zeina Ghanem Mohsen on Sunday, 17 August 2026.
The study aimed to identify the legal basis for protecting the rights of migrant workers in light of the relevant international and regional instruments, and to examine the extent to which they enjoy the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed under international human rights law.
Following the defense, the committee’s decision to accept the thesis and award the student a master’s degree was read out.
