In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal Four: Quality Education, Goal Nine: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal Sixteen: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, the Scientific Committee of the International Relations Branch at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, held its first regular meeting for the 2026–2027 academic year on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.

The meeting discussed the issue of academic promotion and the follow-up of its procedures in accordance with the approved regulations and instructions. It also addressed scientific and applied research and studies, reviewing a number of research topics and emphasizing the importance of supporting research activities and encouraging studies relevant to the specialization. The committee members also reviewed the graduation research projects of fourth-year students, following up on the proposed topics and supervision mechanisms in a manner that enhances students’ skills in research, analysis, and the application of scientific methods.

The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Branch, Professor Dr Hazim Hamad Musa, with the participation and membership of Assistant Professor Dr Muhammad Salah Mahmoud, Assistant Professor Dr Tariq Muhammad Dhanoon, Assistant Professor Dr Rafea Sharif Dhanoon, and Assistant Professor Dr Omar Hashim Dhanoon.
